Hi there!
My name is Andrew Carlman, Portland based Videographer, Designer and Illustrator. I have been working with visual media since High School, when I started helping my dad with editing videos for a variety of events, and later shooting the video myself. I've been involved with art and drawing since I was a kid - drawing whatever I could, whenever I could - including, in Elementary School, my own knockoff comics of actual comics I didn't have.
After that in High School I dove headfirst into the world of 3D animation, teaching myself the basics, and just playing around in it for years. At the same time I was taking three years of college level Broadcast Journalism, preferring the positions behind the camera or in the booth before finding my home at the antiquated Win 98 computer working on motion design in the class.
In college I majored in Animation & Motion Design, and lead the Advanced Animation class, teaching 3D animation/modelling for my last term in college. I started freelancing during that, mostly focusing on logo design, and occasional motion design/graphic design projects.
I continued working primarily in Graphic Design & Logo Design while working a 9-5 and teaching a computer course to people in need at REACH CDC from 2013 - 2017. I slowed down my output of art for a few years. Currently I am also a Producer, and Designer for the Play No Games Podcast; Videographer for Backseat Critics Productions.
Be sure to check out my Instagram where I post current projects in progress more frequently.
